The estuary road is a real succession of panoramas! The landscapes are incredible and the views of the estuary are magnificent. Bonus: go as far as the small lighthouse of Saint-Samson-de-la-Roque. You thus enter the territory of the Marais Vernier. The panorama is breathtaking, it embraces the entire Seine estuary for dozens of surrounding kilometers. We promise it’s worth the detour.

Saint-Sulpice-de-Grimbouville and the medieval house

Saint-Sulpice-de-Grimbouville and the medieval house

Built by English carpenters at the beginning of the 15th century in a neighboring town, it was moved, because it was threatened with demolition due to its dilapidation. It now houses the town hall of Saint-Sulpice de Grimbouville, which in 1998, to save it, decided to move it to its commune.

Continue along the Honfleur road, towards Foulbec, for 5km.

Foulbec

Open the door of the Saint-Martin de Foulbec church. Built mid-slope, near a ravine from where the view extends over the Risle valley, it houses a 1800th century framework and a porch decorated with angel heads. In XNUMX, a landslide revealed a sarcophagus, probably that of the founder of the church.

countville

Discover the illustrious character of this commune: Abbot Gilles François Rever de Beauvez (1753-1828), parish priest of the church from 1784 to his death, but also a man of science and letters, teacher, elected politician and major contribution in this Normandy land - creator of the apple variety which bears his name "The Rever apple".

Berville-sur-mer

Discover the banks of the Seine in Berville-sur-mer. On the esplanade sits the rowboat "L'Annick" and the old rigging "La fleur des flots" (visible in the old port), they are witnesses to the dynamic past of the port of Berville and its fishermen, nicknamed the " Crablins.” 

From the Place des “Voiles de la liberté”, enjoy a panorama of the Seine estuary and an exceptional view of the Normandy Bridge.

The town of Fatouville is full of gems, more or less known. Dare to venture out and discover a remarkable heritage!

Points of interest

  • The ancient Abbey of Grestain, a timeless place, nestled a few kilometers from Honfleur. Its park, wooded and crossed by a stream with beneficial waters, is open to the public all year round.
  • The old lighthouse was built in 1839 to guide navigation in the Bay of Seine. Raised to 132 m, it has been converted into guest rooms since 2000.
  • The Chapel of Carbec, built in 1060, rises in the Vilaine valley, above the sources of Saints healers. So, just a stone's throw from the Chapel, discover the Carbec Lavoir, where the spring flows...

Formerly devoted to agriculture and maritime activity, La Rivière Saint Sauveur is located at the gates of Honfleur.

  • The church: The church is the result of a transformation around 1840 of an old chapel into a parish church.
  • Place Harel: Junction point of the two ancient hamlets of La Rivière and Saint-Sauveur.
